Years of growth and opportunities

What started off as a curiosity eventually turned into a full blown artistic adventure for both Joshua and Bethany. Spying on a small customized Munny in a tattoo shop back in 2008-2009, Josh became fixed on the idea of creating cool characters on a very inviting platform produced by Kidrobot. Experimenting with an abstract approach to creating robots, Josh made “Masonic Munny Robots” as gifts for friends & family.

In 2011 he was encouraged to enter his first custom vinyl show, hosted by Kidrobot and Won 1st Place in a category “Best Use of Office Supplies” with his Penimal pen and pencil holder design. After that he got the bug, opening up to commission requests and participating in whatever art shows available at the time. Through those projects he became friends with many other artists and eventually had the opportunity to work with Kidrobot directly. Met with Kidrobot’s creative director at the time and made a game plan to put custom “Masonic Munny Robots” in every corporate store across the states! One of the coolest and largest projects he was involved with.

Another amazing team up was working directly with Base Camp X to represent their legacy outdoorsman tools like axes and knives. This commission marked one of the last major projects Josh took on but also one of the coolest!

The vinyl toy scene changed a lot and focus was altered as time progressed, Josh still held onto all of his blanks and the robotic accessories to make a comeback. For now, the gallery below will serve as a proper time capsule of MOTM’s work within the custom toy & collectible scene.
